LNER/BR Class V3 No. 67685 at Middlesborough station. A railway employee is pointing to the locomotive and possibly explaining something to two older trainspotters who are wearing long trousers and school caps.

67685 was built at Doncaster Works in December 1939. Withdrawn from Haymarket shed in December 1962, it was cut up at Darlington works in April 1963.

LNER/BR Gresley Class V3 2-6-2 tank No. 67656 stands at the end of some ECS at Newcastle Central Station on Sunday 23rd June 1963, a wet and damp day, although the sun came out for this shot, on station pilot duty. It was withdrawn from 52A Gateshead shed later that year in December 1963 and cut up at Darlington Works, North Road scrapyard in February 1964.
