Built 1932. Designed by Nigel Gresley.

S1/2 Introduced 1932. Rebuilt from Robinson Great Central Railway (GCR) Class S1/1 design by Nigel Gresley.

LNER loco No. 6171 rebuilt 1932 with a side window cab, booster fitted trailing bogie and superheater - booster later removed in 1943.
