LNER Class Robinson Great Central Railway S1/1 0-8-4 Tank

Built 1907-08. Designed by Robinson.

Total Number Built 4 - Total to BR 3.

S1/1 Introduced 1907-08. Robinson Great Central Railway (GCR) Class 8H design. Rebuilt with superheater.

Four locos (69900-69903) were built for shunting in Wath marshalling Yard. No. 69901 was rebuilt in 1932 with a booster to the rear bigy, the bogie being later removed. This loco was classified Class S1/2.

No. 69902 retained its GCR chimney, the others having London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) pattern chimney.
