Built 1874-91. Designed by Stirling. Rebuilt by Nigel Gresley.

Total Number Built 105 - Total to BR 2.

Introduced 1891. Stirling Great Northern Railway design with domeless boilers, rebuilt by Gresley from 1912.

(a) Boiler pressure reduced and employed as Departmental locomotive.

Number Series 68317, 68319.

Built at ??? Works.

Engine No. 8317 did not survived long enough to carry its BR allocated number 68317.

The first loco withdrawn was 68317 on 24 December 1948 from Doncaster shed.
The last loco withdrawn was 68319 on ??? 1950 from Doncaster Works.

None are preserved.
