The engines were built specifically for shunting in Aberdeen Docks.

The first loco withdrawn was 68191 on 31 March 1959 from Kittybrewster shed, Aberdeen.
The last loco withdrawn was 68190 on 28 April 1960 from Kittybrewster shed, Aberdeen.

None are preserved.
