LNER Class Worsdell T W North Eastern Railway Y8 0-4-0 Tank

Built 1890. Designed by T W Worsdell.

Total Number Built 5 - Total to BR 2.

Introduced 1890. T W Worsdell North Eastern Railway Class K dock tank design.

These engines were a smaller version of Class Y7.

The locomotives were built with a marine type boiler and reboilered with a Stephenson type boiler in 1902-4.

68091 transferred to Departmental stock as shed pilot at York and renumbered by BR to D55.

No Lot Nos. yet available.

Nos. 562 and 563 were withdrawn by the LNER in 1936 and 1937.

The first loco withdrawn was 68090 as (LNER No. 8090) on 15 November 1948 from Borough Gardens shed, Hull.
The last loco withdrawn was 68091 on ??? 1956 from York shed?.

None are preserved.
