Sulzer Type 4 Class 45 45041 (D53) at Newton Abbott on 07 July 1984
Peak class 45041 arrives hauling 1V76 09.36 Liverpool - Penzance.
Built at BR Crewe works in June 1962, this loco saw 26 years service before being withdrawn in June 1988. At first sold to Pete Waterman railways at Crewe, it has latterly found preservation owned by the Peak Locomotive Company at the Midland Railway Butterley.
Named "Royal Tank Regiment" without ceremony at BR Derby works on 24 September 1964, the nameplate incorporated the regimental Coat of Arms depicting a WW1 tank; the regiment was formed in 1916.
