EE Type 4 Class 40 40069 (D269) at Preston on 21 March 1983

Allocated to Healey Mills HM MPD, 40069 is taking the through Goods loop heading an up CCE train.

Built by EE Vulcan Foundry in April 1960, after 23 years this loco was withdrawn in September 1983 at Newton Heath depot due to wear and tear and thin tyres. The loco was cut up a year later in September 1984 at BREL Doncaster.
