EE Type 3 Class 37/7 37799 (D6761, 37061) at Cardiff on 27 June 1991

Allocated to Cardiff Canton CF TMD since 1986, here in the FECA coal pool, 37799 heads through an up coal mgr train.

Built at EE Vulcan Foundry in October 1962 and first allocated to Thornaby depot, it saw 39 years service on BR. It was withdrawn by EWS in Mar 2001, went to work in Spain and was cut up there at Vilafranca del Penedes in Dec 2011.

This loco was named "Sir Dyfed/ County of Dyfed" on 07 November 1987 without ceremony at Cardiff Canton, the third loco to carry the name. It marks the twinning of the railway with the County of Dyfed, especially in Llanelli and Pembroke.
