EE Type 3 Class 37/0 37260 (D6960) at Inverness on 02 July 1984

37260 arrives from the Aberdeen line with the "Chieftain Connection"; a connection into the train I am already aboard, the "Highland Chieftain" Inverness - Kings X HST service. It has been spruced up and repainted into large logo livery for its imminent naming as 'Radio Highland' in five days time.

Built at EE Vulcan Foundry in January 1965, this loco went first to Sheffield Darnall depot. It saw service on ER, the Woodhead route and in Anglia. Transferred to Inverness in May 1982 it remained there for the rest of its working life; eventually withdrawn in Aug 1989 with fire damage and cut up at MC Metals, Glasgow in Sept 1991.
