BRC&W Co Type 2 Class 27 No. D5377 (27030) at Thornaby Shed 1965 - Low Resolution Image

Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company Type 2 No. D5377, later to become Class 27 27030, inside Thornaby Shed 51L on Easter Sunday 18th April 1965, showing signs of collision damage which has been repaired.

A schoolboy trainspotter walks past the loco. He is wearing a school uniform of peaked school cap, blazer, short trousers and knee socks, with an army style knapsack on his back. Although being slowly phased out, shorts and caps were items of school uniform common at this time.
