In near original condition with a clean, uncluttered front end, 86249 "County of Merseyside" is appropriately heading 1A19 08.10 Liverpool - Euston. Passing Rugby on time, it is almost exactly 60mins from Euston.

Built by the EE Vulcan Foundry in September 1965, the loco spent its life on WCML duties, latterly being the Glasgow Polmadie driver training loco until withdrawn off lease in August 2005 and scrapped in October 2005 by JTL, Caerwent

Named "County of Merseyside" on 07 Sept 1981 at Liverpool Lime Street to mark the twinning of the county with the WCML network.
