Built February 1978 at BREL Doncaster works; here 56039 is at rest on a Sunday, on the Wall sidings outside Brighton station.

It is in company with another Railfreight liveried example behind, but that one has the red solebar that much better finished the livery. I do not know what duties caused them to be in the area.

This loco was withdrawn in January 2004 and cut up in March that same year at TJ Thompson, Stockton.
