Built in April 1961 at BR Crewe works; here 45 101 sets back on to the engine siding - between the up and down running lines, East of the station - having arrived on 1O86 10.50 Penzance - Brighton, which reverses here. The loco was scrapped at Vic Berry, Leicester in September 1988.
