Built at EE Vulcan Foundry in August 1959; here Longsight LO TMD allocated 40028 has propelled in the CCE Inspection Saloon, reversing in the station, then departing to the Whitehaven line. Withdrawn at Newton Heath depot in October 1984 due to power unit damage, the loco was scrapped at BREL Crewe works in February 1988.

Built at EE Vulcan Foundry in August 1959; here Longsight LO TMD allocated 40028 pauses on the up through line awaiting a path, heading a lengthy up Parcels train. This loco was scrapped at Crewe in February 1988.
